Only a few more days and it's back to Hogwarts. I'm actually feeling a little reluctant to return to be honest, which is quite usual for me, but this holiday ranks amongst one of my best. Spending Christmas at Patrick's and then New Year in Japan with him was fantastic... although I think we were both blinded by the camera flashes by the end of our stay. My cousin and her friends are 'snap happy' and seem to be surgically attached to their cameras or their cell phones (which come with cameras).
I hope everyone else had an excellent break and you are all ready to study again!

Why didn't anyone warn me about Dashing Wolves concerts? I've never seen so many girls take their tops off in one place! Not been mauled by so many girls at same time either. Stupid Llewellyn and his stupid suggestion...
On the plus side, the music was excellent and I picked up all the souvenirs requested.
Now I plan to sleep for several hours and hope my ears have stopped ringing when I wake up.

Someone asked me what my family usually did on Christmas Day and was a bit nonplussed when I replied 'nothing in particular'. Christmas isn't really family time in my household, in Japan it's regarded more as a romantic holiday or an excuse to buy/receive expensive gifts. Having said that though, I admit that Kimi and I do insist on a Christmas tree and decorations throughout the house!
I'm looking forward to the concert. Does anyone want any souvenirs (t-shirts and the like)? Let me know and I'll be happy to pick something up.

The DADA test was definitely a challenge, but enjoyable at the same time. Even though he's tough, I like Professor Nacht's lessons simply because they force me to push beyond my limits. However, the toughest test was the Arithmancy one, at a couple of points I thought my brain was going to tie into knots!
Still, apparently these tests are minor compared to what N.E.W.Ts are like. I've been distracted lately but mostly it's been a pleasant distraction so need to knuckle down and get back to my study routine.
And this really has to be the worst winter in memory.

I enjoyed the match on Saturday, very invigorating to watch and of course I was observing both teams closely in preparation for when the time comes for Ravenclaw to play. The triple diving sore was particularly impressive, the amount of people losing control of their brooms was not.
What I'm not enjoying is the excessive whining/gloating that's going on, but since the rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin has always been so ridiculously intense then I doubt that's going to change in a hurry. I really wish the lot of you would all just grow up though and accept it was a good game, and a close one right up until the snitch was caught.
And yes, you can throw those words back at me if I sulk so excessively if Ravenclaw loses a match. However, that's not likely.
Lydia, I hope you're doing all right after your fall.

Turns out the prefect's bathroom is a really good place to think up a costume for Halloween. I wasn't there five minutes before I decided what I was going to do. And no, I'm not mentioning what because I'll be highly annoyed if there is any copying.
In other news, I'm back on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and wondering what madness possessed me to quit in the first place. Well, aside from the aches that drove me to the bath in the first place. Clearly I'm not in the same shape I was. However, I'm confident I'll be ready to effectively face the opposition when matches start, whether they have fancy brooms or not.

The weather's definitely starting to get cooler. Wonder if there'll be an early snow.
Leaned two new violin solos this week, including Paganini's Caprice No. 5. Clearly I have no life I still need to perfect them, but all in all they are coming along nicely.

Hogsmeade was great, the company in particular, but at some point I managed to pick up a shocking cold which I've only just started recovering from. Lydia, I hope that first year told you why I wasn't around. Madame Pomfrey kept me in the hospital wing since I was coughing loud enough to wake the dead.
Anyway, I'm better now, but feeling a bit behind with my study. Can I grab notes from people who were in my classes? Thanks.

Halloween is coming up and I believe the prefects are devising the costume party? If so, I vote to start planning now to make sure everyone has time to make or buy their costumes (especially with Hogsmeade weekend coming up).
As for themes, we could stay with the traditional Halloween monsters, creatures etc. However, I did think it could be interesting to add a twist or some new ideas such as ghosts and monsters from around the world (expand the traditional theme to include more than Western Europe).
Any other thoughts?

What the bloody hell happened? One minute I was fine and the next I was dancing down the corridors bare foot - and I don't even remember what else!
I have a headache. Scratch that, 'headache' just doesn't do justice to the pounding on the inside if my skull. Exceedingly painful migraine might just do it.
Can I die now?
If anyone finds six pairs of size nine shoes, let me know. I think I threw them out of the window.

Lemon-scent... like home-made lemonade. I like that, reminds me of hot summer days. Zaru-soba is good for hot days too, cold noodles and sweet sauce. Slurp!
